    1. I never know if the men are underestimating the women or just think whatever “tricks” the women are playing is not important enough for them to be bothered. Maybe a little bit of both and more.

      1. imo they are kinda half-blinded by love (it might even be voluntarily) thinking that they are in love with a gentle and intelligent but kind woman (they might not even be in love but force themselves to feel they are in love to maintain a perfect image) and also ofc their ego doesnt allow them to even suspect they might have married (or the woman they are in (fake) love ) an harpy behind that appearance of white lotus (since they have chosen her themselves and that would mean they’ve been tricked). and as you said, ofc, them underestimating the power, resources and ambition of women (even if as children they would probably have seen their own moher’s fight with all their might to maintain their son’s position, but when they grow up they just forget bc the dont think with the brain but with their d*ck…) … my opinion after reading many webnovels hahaha probably the last sentence it’s the one that holds more truth hahaha

  6. Firstly, I don’t believe JL’s father will listen to her step-mother and stop her from going to the academy, not after her display.
    Secondly, it will probably just reinforce the point JL made last time.
    Thirdly, why must everyone bring JL down to their level? As IF she is interest in some Zhou-heir-whoever? lol Goes without saying that anyone JYY is interested in is absolutely terribly anyway.

  9. Thanks for the update! And happy new year, even though the month is already almost over. 😅

    The next chapter hopefully will give us a nice exchange as JSR will try to convince her husband to keep JL home and he will have to say why she’s going to the academy. Because, of course, she’s going. Her arguments were so reasonable and full of concerns for the Jiang family name and prestige. 🤭 Also, he really can’t defend the fact that the Di daughter has a tutor but the Shu daughter goes. That’s slapping his own face. Finally she could make use of her position.
