The Random Passerby I Married Is The Richest Man!

Chapter 4 Part 2: Windfall

She walked to Bai Zhen Zhen’s side and said full of joy, “Aiyo, I say, Zhen Zhen, how did you suddenly have money? It turned out that you knew this big boss ah! Such a good thing, why didn’t you tell mom and dad earlier…? ”

Seeing that Bai Zhen Zhen didn’t answer, she encouraged: “Zhen Zhen, what do you still need to think about! Such a good job, and you still haven’t thanked the big boss!”

“Zhen Zhen…” Father Bai also stood up and walked to Bai Zhen Zhen’s side. He lowered his voice and said, “Don’t sign so early, how can a secretary’s salary be so high! Dad is worried that this is not a proper job… ”

“That’s right ah, sister, how can there be such a good thing ah!” Although Bai Mengru said that, jealousy flashed in her eyes.

“One hundred thousand.”

An ice-cold voice traveled to their ears.

Bai Zhen Zhen looked astonished as Leng Hao Chen stood up.

“One hundred thousand a month.” Leng Hao Chen’s lips hooked, “How about that?”

Father Bai and the mother-daughter duo were speechless.

Bai Zhen Zhen felt somewhat terrified of meeting Leng Hao Chen’s gaze. She avoided his gaze and said with ridicule: “President Leng, is not that I think it’s too little money. But I am a mere waitress in a restaurant, how can I be your secretary?”

Michael answered this question in place of Leng Hao Chen.

“Miss Bai,  the boss said, in such a trivial matter as picking up a mobile phone, you were able to analyze the plan that would give you the biggest profit, and were able to convince the boss using meticulous logic. It can clearly be seen that you have a strong business mentality combined with good insight and analysis capability, therefore the boss believes, Miss Bai, that you are competent enough to be his private secretary. ”

Bai Zhen Zhen: ???

Although she pretended to be happy on the surface, Bai Zhen Zhen was already roaring hysterically in her mind.

—When did she change from being a money-grubber to having a strong business mentality?!

—Didn’t the president already have a particular assistant?! Why did he still want a female secretary ah?!

—Even if he wanted to hire her, he didn’t need to bring such a huge bunch of people to the hospital to look for her, right?! As the legendary elite of the Chinese business world, was Boss Leng this idle and with nothing important to do today?!

—System: “Host, all your roasting has been received by the system. After your experience finishes successfully, the system will send feedback to the author.  ”

—Bai Zhen Zhen: “…I don’t want to bother with you.”

Michael also handed over a pen: “Miss Bai, after learning of your family’s circumstances, and in accordance with our excellent entrepreneur character of caring for our employees, the boss has decided to fund your father’s diagnosis and whole treatment, all costs during treatment will be taken care of by the Leng group.”

Yang Suping’s mouth was open so wide you could almost put an egg in it.

Bai Mengru’s eyes also revealed the envy that couldn’t be concealed anymore.

While Father Bai was in a state of confusion, he always felt that these sly people had some ideas concerning his daughter, and looked extremely nervous.

“Thank you, President Leng, for your kindness… but I can’t sign this contract.” Bai Zhen Zhen declined politely.

“Bai Zhen Zhen, are you crazy?! Where are you going to find such a good job ah?” Yang Suping said anxiously.

Bai Zhen Zhen directly ignored her stepmother’s words, took a step forward and handed the contract back to Michael, smiling politely: “To be honest, when I went to deposit money today, I had already found a new job that I like and I have already signed a contract. A working period of one year has already been agreed.”

Michael said: “If Miss Bai is worried about the penalty fee, the Leng group can help you pay it1.”

“It’s not at all about the penalty fee,” said Bai Zhen Zhen, “it’s a question of trust. It’s the company I was looking for, I don’t want to go back on my words. I hope that President Leng can understand.”

“But…”

“Okay.” Leng Hao Chen’s cold voice interrupted Michael’s persuasion.

Michael saw the boss speak and immediately halted his words.

“Since you’re so insistent, I also won’t force you.”

Leng Hao Chen patted the dust on his shoulders and strode with vigorous steps intending to leave. When he passed by Bai Zhen Zhen, his face suddenly closed in, a pair of long and narrow eyes looking at her faintly, showing a hint of playfulness.

“Woman, it’s useless to play hard to get with me.”

Leaving this sentence behind in Bai Zhen Zhen’s ear, Leng Hao Chen left without looking back. The group of bodyguards in black suits also withdrew, following closely.

Bai Zhen Zhen was rooted to her spot like by magic.

This president was sick, right?!

Shouldn’t he say it clearly – today it was he who took the initiative to come tease her, ok??

I did a culinary experiment the other day, and it turned out not so well…. (usually they turn out good, I swear!). I guess using only 2 from the more than 10 ingredients of the original recipe plus doing whatever I wanted in the cooking steps had some influence in the end result…  In my defense, I’ll say that even if the end product was totally not what it was supposed to be, and it looked totally not appetizing, it tasted great 🙃 that should count for sth, right? 🤣

1: 垫付 was used here. It means to pay sb else’s expenses with the expectation of being reimbursed by that person later. However, I am not sure President Leng would ask for the money back as long as he can get away with having Bai Zhen Zhen as his secretary, so I preferred to leave it in a more vague way.:leftwards_arrow_with_hook:
