The Random Passerby I Married Is The Richest Man!

Chapter 16 Part 1:  Proposal on the spot

Under everyone’s eyes and amidst sounds of discussion, Xi Xixi braced himself and walked up the stage.

Earlier today, when the STAR band members were having their makeup done at the backstage, the hopping mall’s public relations manager came over and gave each of them a VIP platinum card. He also said that they could participate in the mall lottery if they were interested.

In this regard, the other members were a bit disdainful, only Xi Xixi was afraid of embarrassing the manager, so he sang praises as he was guided to where the lottery tickets were handed.

Although Xi Xixi filled in the raffle ticket, he had never thought he would draw the prize. The probability was just was of just one in a thousand ah!

However, “a carefully tended flower bed might not blossom, while a casually planted willow will grow and give you shade1 ” — this world’s matters were really unpredictable!

“Xixi, say hello to everyone!” The hostess spoke and handed him the microphone with a smile.

Xi Xixi took the microphone, his white face with a crimson shade, and said a bit bashfully: “Hello everyone, I am one of the members of STAR, Xi Xixi.”

Bai Zhen Zhen stared at Xi Xixi with a wooden face, completely without the “unexpected surprise” from a moment ago.

Huo Xiang at the side was confused — just now, wasn’t Bai Zhen Zhen drooling all over this boy? Could it be that, because he “snatched” her big prize, she immediately became cold and indifferent? Women ah, they indeed change moods faster than flipping a book!

“Talking in such a shy manner, he doesn’t have any stage presence at all.” Star-chasing girl A scoffed.

“He always sings out of tune, and he’s also uncoordinated when dancing, apart from having a good face, there’s practically no good point about him! I really don’t know why the company’s manager picked him.” Star-chasing girl B despised.

“But I still drool over his face hey, he has two adorable dimples on his cheeks ah.” Star-chasing girl C finally said some friendly words.

Bai Zhen Zhen knew a little about Xi Xixi’s background. He came from a martial arts background, not really dancing “dance”, so when he started to dance, he still moved a bit stiffly. As for being off-key when singing, that was because he was too nervous onstage.

In fact, Xi Xixi was a lively sunshine off the stage.

Later, Xi Xixi overcame his stage fright and the inferiority complex that was hidden deep in his heart, and he matured quickly, becoming very popular in the entertainment circle in less than half a year.

“Xixi, congratulations on winning our shopping mall’s first prize. However, you are one of our mall’s invited guests and won this prize. I don’t know if your mood is even more complicated as the audience’s, ne?” The hostess asked.

The host said in a timely manner: “Not to mention Xixi, we hosts are also very surprised ah! This draw is really completely random, fair and square. In the end, the first prize we draw was for one of our invited performers, so just a moment ago I heard some comments from the audience below, discussing whether or not this lottery draw is shady. To these people, I just want to say — you really think too much!”

Xi Xixi understood the host’s idea. He hurriedly explained: “Host, I actually just participated in this event in a moment of curiosity. But I heard that in order to ensure fairness, the staff of the mall are not allowed to participate in the lottery. Since I am here as a performer guest, according to reason, I also should not receive this prize, so…”

Xi Xixi paused.

“I would like to ask President Leng to draw again a lucky participant.”

Leng Hao Chen had stood on the stage for a long time. He motioned the host and took over the microphone from the host, then said: “Since Mr. Xi wants to give up his place, you will draw the person yourself.”

As soon as his voice fell, he walked down the stage.

Oh dear have you seen the title? It’s almost here!!

that aside, uhuh, today there was this big big big ugly spider in a corner of my room… so as all proper human being should do, I first freaked out, second freaked out, third attacked it with my alcohol spray (not only effective against covid but also good to get rid of bugs! just, it works better with small ones like mosquitoes), since it was too damn big it didn’t work, so then I tried to kill it with a shoe, but oh man I do hate corners, the shoe couldn’t fit well in the corner so the spider didn’t die but started going down (aka closer to me), so then I freaked out again, tried to kill it again but too freaked out so I failed… well, unkown result. So I freaked out once more bc I did not know where the spider was (cuz if it got in the mess that is my desk and hid there that would be really not good) or whether it was alive. Finally I saw something that could be a spider corpse (or not) so I went to look for an ally, namely vacuum cleaner (the idea of requesting help from flatmates had been rejected long ago), which is a good one to get rid of corpses, and non-corpses as well, but it wasn’t going to be me the one to go and check it. Reality proved that it was a non-corpse. So once my ally did its work I put it back in its cupboard, and now I am really really happy I vacuumed my room yesterday so I won’t need to get close to it anytime soon. I just don’t want to imagine what would happen if the vengeful still-alive spider somehow (clearly using dark arts) gets out of the vacuum cleaner and decides to colonize the cupboard…

There you have it, that’s the most ‘exciting’ thing that happened to me today… did you want to know it? I’m sure you didn’t haha but now it’s too late for regrets x)

    1. Hahaha i have a plastic glass in my room that is reserved to dealing with beetles! Tho some time its tricky how to get the bug from inside the glass/cup to outside the window… not long ago at my friend’s place we trapped a hornet and… that time we did have to ask help from flatmates 😂

  2. OMG!!! Its going to be an in public proposal. Is Bai Zhen Zhen going to get bamboozled? Your spider chronicles is so funny. Glad you got in the end. Remember me of a friend who called me because of a cockroach. I drove over.

    1. Thankfully this translator lives in a country where cockroaches are not the trend. Otherwise, bug chronicles would not be funny but a nightmare xD

  3. I’m glad you survived your encounter with the terrorist. Just to make you feel better, they don’t usually survive passing thru the ally, too much tumbling going thru the mechanism. Thanks for the chapter!
