The Random Passerby I Married Is The Richest Man!

Chapter 10 Part 2: Tit for tat

Leng Hao Chen did not show surprise at Bai Mengru’s words.

On the side, Michael also knew the whole story in detail so he explained: “Miss Bai, at noon today, I received your sister who came entrusted by you to look for the boss at the Leng corporation. Later, as soon as the boss heard that you needed help, he immediately agreed to come to the hospital in the afternoon and help you make arrangements.”

“Michael.” Leng Hao Chen interrupted Michael’s words, displeased, seemingly acting a bit tsundere.

Bai Zhen Zhen’s gaze fell on Bai Mengru: “When did I ask you to find president Leng?”

Bai Mengru’s face changed instantly. “I’m sorry sister, I was just worried about you and dad…” Bai Mengru looked like she was apologizing, but it actually was as if feeling wronged.

Bai Zhen Zhen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry: “Worried about me?”

Bai Mengru nodded and said earnestly: “Sister, I know your salary is not high, but you are also very filial. We all really hope that dad can recover soon from his illness, therefore I can completely understand your painstaking efforts…”

“Get to the point.” Bai Zhen Zhen interrupted her impatiently.

Bai Mengru’s expression stiffed, but she forced herself to continue: “Sister, I know that things are not as simple as you said, and your salary is certainly not enough for dad’s treatment. So I thought about it later, since President Leng appreciates and acknowledges you so much, he will certainly help us… As long as he’s willing to help, father can recover as soon as possible, and you, sister, won’t need to work so hard…”

“That’s why, without even knowing my circumstances, you took the initiative to find the president?” Bai Zhen Zhen’s tone was somewhat sharp.

Bai Mengru intertwined her fingers, lowered her head, and looked frightened: “I’m sorry, sister, I shouldn’t have made a decision without asking you…”

Bai Zhen Zhen was disgusted by this kind of affected look of Bai Mengru. She asked impolitely: “Since you knew you shouldn’t, then why did you do it?”

“I… I was feeling anxious for a moment…”

“Miss Bai, your sister was thinking about you and your father, I’m sure her intentions were good.” Michael said from the side.

Bai Zhen Zhen glanced at Bai Mengru, sneering in her heart. What being concerned about her? It was clear as day that she saw the handsome and ostentatious Leng Hao Chen the other day, so she thought of this excuse to approach him.

In the original plot, Bai Mengru didn’t do less of this kind of thing.

“Yes ah, the older sister said it so clearly she could handle everything, yet the younger sister rashly acted on her own initiative and caused a lot of misunderstandings.” Huo Xiang, who was counting money at the side, suddenly uttered a few mystifying words.  “However, Zhen Zhen, you still need to thank your sister, because even if she ruined things with good intentions, didn’t she have good intentions?! If you dare to blame her, you are not sensible!”

Everyone could hear that Huo Xiang was speaking with irony. The corner of Bai Zhen Zhen’s lips also rose. Sure enough, bystanders and passers-by could see very clearly ah!

But the point that caught Leng Hao Chen’s attention from the words just said was not the sarcasm, but rather how Huo Xiang had called her ‘Zhen Zhen’1.

“You call her ‘Zhen Zhen’? What’s your relationship with her?” Leng Hao Chen’s look towards Huo Xiang was a bit more hostile.

Huo Xiang seemed to have heard some puzzling words, his two eyes like saucers: “Big boss, what do you mean with this? Her name is Bai Zhen Zhen. If I don’t call her ‘Zhen Zhen’, should I call her ‘Jia Jia’?!”2.

Leng Hao Chen was so angry he couldn’t speak.

Bai Zhen Zhen stared stupefied from the side. This was the book’s male lead ah, that kind of domineering retort, how could it actually be made by a passer-by like this?!

Footnotes:

1: calling her by her given name (Zhen Zhen) indicates a much closer relationship, you would usually call someone who is just an acquaintance in a polite way, using also the surname (Bai Zhen Zhen).:leftwards_arrow_with_hook:

2: Her name, 真真 (zhēnzhēn), means true, genuine. Huo Xiang is making a wordplay here by saying if he doesn’t call her ‘true’, should he call her ‘false’ (假假 – jiǎjiǎ)?:leftwards_arrow_with_hook:
